The Urban League is the nation’s oldest and largest community-based movement devoted to empowering African Americans to enter the economic and social mainstream.
The mission of the Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League (MWUL) movement is to empower people of color to secure self-reliance, parity, power and civil rights.
The Young Professionals (YPs) is an auxiliary organization of the Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League. As such, the Young Professionals are driven to promote the mission of its parent organization through community service and professional development.

Join the YPs ,Tuesday April 15th, to hear an excellent talk on Body Image and Obesity in America!  
We will be welcoming guest speaker Jaehee Jung, Ph.D., an Associate Professor in the Department of Fashion & Apparel Studies at the University of Delaware, who's article,"Body Image, Appearance Self-Schema, and Media Images" (Jung, & Lennon, 2003) was ranked number 1 in the "50 Most-Frequently Read Articles" in Family and Consumer Sciences Research Journal (December) in 2006.

The STEM Career Fair is targeted towards middle and high school students to increase their knowledge and desire to enter the STEM field. 

  • Students will explore STEM careers, and learn more about the field of their choice.
  • Discuss what they need to do now to make their choice a reality.
  • Have the opportunity to discuss career choices with professionals working in the STEM field.
